If you ask me, a garden is a place of peace, happiness, contentment, and creativity. I was delighted to be asked by Better Homes and Gardens to contribute my thoughts on garden design and how to create a Garden Girl Aesthetic at home. Dive into your inner Garden Girl by tapping pattern play, rich textiles, natural elements like stone, wood, and terra cotta.
One of my favorite was to personalize any space is leaning into a favorite part of your yard, kitchen, or corner in your home. Style that area to suit visiting guests; use comfy pillows, potted plants, and colors that mimic nature. To entertain in your Garden Girl space, fill jars with fresh herbs (from your garden or store bought) for a cocktail station.
"If you really want to go all in on this lifestyle, visit a local stationer: Request a design a logo for your garden space or home, print up blank note cards for thank you notes, or print recipes for your go-to summer cobbler or favorite drink. Plus, you can send them home with your guests after a dinner party for a useful keepsake."
