valley & co. entertaining :: make a cheery st. patrick’s day

The springtime season is upon us, which means it's high time to break out our garden-inspired entertaining wares: we're talking patterned linens, cabbage plates, and all of the trimmed napkins! Entertaining for St. Patrick's Day generally spells us baking cookies and cooking a roast all day, and setting the table with colors that nod to the Emerald Isle (and some of our heritage). Here are our go-to tips for creating a cheery St. Patrick's Day table:

Anchor a table with a linen that fits your vibe - for us this painterly fern soft linen is the perfect base

Create a centerpiece by using fresh produce! Cabbage, Brussels Sprouts, and herbs are not only beautiful, but so easy to bunch up together in a basket to make an unexpected and delightful centerpiece

Layer your tabletop - a charger plate (like this darling cabbage one from Bordallo Pinheiro) are so playful and bold!

Mix up your playlist! A combination of Celtic classics peppered with some Van Morrison and jazz will set the tone for a lively party!
