It’s finally February and it means only a few more weeks until spring is here – our snowdrops and hellebores are in full bloom, and we can hardly wait for spring’s arrival. Until then, we’re excited to enjoy February and to share our spin on Valentine’s month – a month where we spread joy through flowers and cookies to our neighbors and friends. I look forward to Ava and Nick’s sweetheart dance, and tea with some of our neighbors. I think everyone is eager to see the sunshine!
Who else wants to celebrate love and kindness (and flowers and bubbly) all month long?
For this Valentine’s Day party Ava helped me create our florals and style our place settings, focusing on soft textures that feel spring-like and not the quintessential red, white, and gold we often see. I love sweet peas and think they add such a sweet balance of texture and a delicate feeling. Katie, our darling photographer friend, will tell you she was impressed with my 5-minute centerpiece (yes, truly!) – for me designing centerpieces becomes really fluid, and I love the garden-inspired lush arrangements that feel as if they’ve been plucked from an English garden.
Peppering in some peachy tones helped to soften the tones and sings to near-spring, don’t you think? Our cocktails are infused with elderflower syrup and topped with sparkling rose, and topped with rock candy for a whimsical element! And of course we had to toss in our book Storied Weddings!

We hope you join in on spreading the love all month long and making Valentine’s Day into a month of joy and kindness! We can all do it by: commenting on people’s posts, complimenting others, sending flowers just because or dropping a bunch of tulips on a neighbor’s porch, inviting a friend over for tea, and just being sweet! 🙂
