valley & co. wedding :: summery green and blue chateau wedding

We are always game when our couples envision a creative idea or look – after all, it’s our job to dream up and create a wedding that is uniquely theirs. Katie and Kory wanted a fun feast for the senses for their 120 guests, and we chose Chateau Lill as the beautiful backdrop for their late summer soiree.

Groom Kory enjoys greenery, and we pitched the idea of using a watercolor motif to carry through the invitations, paper goods, and on printed pillows and the welcome bar during happy hour. They both loved the idea, and it gave us a really fun and original way to tell their story. Momental Designs (who continually amazes us!) painted their invitations and we used the motif in sun great ways – the gold splatter was a perfect finishing touch!

We used fruit on the vine, garden roses, an abundance of greenery, and bits of emerald green and pale and navy blue, accented by tans and bits of blush and yellow here-and-there. It really was a favorite design to create as it was so light and airy and represented their unique vision so well.

A few of our favorite personalized (and borrow-worth!) ideas:

–Cocktail napkins were imprinted with spectacles, as Katie and Kory met at optometry school! A fun and cheeky way to tie in your story during happy hour!

–Family-style tables were long, but broken up so the tent didn’t feel like a sea of tables and were warm and inviting.

-As shared on Brides.com, our escort display meandered guests through the vines and arches we created where they plucked their escort tag

-An ultra-personalized menu was created by Lisa Dupar, nodding to Kory’s Canadian roots. Fried chicken and waffles were served with the best Canadian maple syrup assortment!

-Let them eat dessert – also nodding to Kory’s Portuguese heritage, the sweets came from a scrumptious Portuguese bakery – so amazing!
