It’s almost Nina and Matt’s 1-year wedding anniversary, and we still can’t get enough of them and their big day. Nina and Matt were a dream to work with – at one of our first meetings we visited their beautiful home, which gave us a fantastic insight into their personal style and design eye. Clean and sophisticated, their home was comfy, yet felt stately with 1920s marble touches, black and modern flourishes, and a style that actually felt much like our own! It helped us to get a sense of who they are individually but also as a couple.
We knew that The Rainier Club was the perfect location for their wintry wedding – a stately and iconic Seattle, area venue that boasts the most incredible chandeliers in the city, if not on the West Coast! Nina and Matt gave us a benchmark for designs and we worked closely to create memorable guests experiences, but they also let us surprise them along the way. On the wedding day they really had no grasp on how magical the thousands of tulips, garden roses, peonies, and hydrangeas would be!
One of our favorite elements of the day: this welcome entry just outside the ceremony where we staged thoughtful shawls for the guests (that February evening was quite chilly!), and they were greeted with champagne by smiling attendants when they exited the elevators.
During the cocktail hour post-ceremony we transformed this foyer again into the flower-filled escort display, where we had an abundance of flowers running 8′ and hosting calligraphy envelopes with guests’ names for dining and a thank you note from our couple. It was a favorite touch!
Crisp and classic, just like Nina and Matt’s style, but filled with bits of whimsy! These trees were a beautiful nod to spring on its way but still felt wintry and romantic.
How beautiful is this winter light? We were able to photograph some of the dining tables before the ceremony, which yielded these dreamy images!
THIS! This ceremony is an all-time favorite. It was perfect for the setting, perfect for our couple, and just so perfectly romantic for the season. The simple touches of the white aisle runner and mounds of flowers were everything we envisioned and then some. In some ballrooms we need to remove window treatments or cover the carpet – not at The Rainier Club. Each detail is tastefully done and only enhances the look.
The French-inspired musicians provided a warm ambiance during the ceremony and were so much fun to listen to. Who doesn’t love a French accordion?
Also during cocktail hour we transformed the dining space into this wintry wonderland, complete with festive lighting that immediately changed the tone into a dramatic dinner.
The Sweet Side made the cake to mimic the chameleon chairs – isn’t it so spot on? And the alcove with leaded glass windows behind it was charming.
The last surprise we had in store was lighting up the side of the charming Rainier Club, with the master minds of Crimson Haze making a huge impact – it was fun to watch out of the upstairs windows as guests exited via Uber and looked up to see this fun touch!
We adore Nina and Matt and were so happy to be part of the magic!
