When it comes time for our couples to register for their wedding gifts, it generally means save the dates are getting ready to be mailed and a wedding website is up and running, waiting for a link to their wedding registry with thoughtful gifts carefully chosen to suit their new home together. We love to encourage them to choose practical items but also ones that will help to fill their entertaining tool belt. Many wedding guests choose to purchase gifts as soon as they have a notification (given via a save the date or website – not on an invitation), so having a fully stocked registry before sending out communication with your guests is helpful.
We encourage our couples to really think about the style of their current home(s) and what they ultimately want their home as newlyweds to look and feel like. Our personal style is a mix – we totally renovated and restored our 100-year old Craftsman home and it’s full of original character as well as modern touches. It feels both comfortable and elegant, which was our goal – we want guests visiting us to feel at home and very well taken care of.
Here are some of our favorite registry picks from Wayfair Registry, filling that seasonality of summer. We love entertaining outdoors and much of our own entertaining chest is stocked with items that look similar to these picks – fresh and coastal with some French picnic nods, perfect for evenings spent in our garden.
What’s so great about Wayfair Registry it that they make it easier than ever for couples to conveniently register for everything home, all in one place, by selecting from more than 8 million products across all styles, including outdoor, kitchen, bed and bath, living room and home renovation.
Also, Wayfair Registry serves as a hub for couples, letting them personalize their page by uploading photos, sharing notes with guests and tagging their favorite finds and they offer a “group gifting” option, where guests can contribute a dollar amount to big-ticket items like sofas, large appliances, or home renovation needs like lighting fixtures, plumbing materials and more. All perfect for couples who are building a new home and adventure together!

Some of our favorite tips we offer our couples who are preparing to register:
Go into registering with a general idea of what you’d like, but keep an open mind. Fill in the blanks of what you might need in your kitchen or bedroom, but know you could stumble upon an amazing outdoor furniture set, decadent linens, or beautiful glassware. Prioritize what you need, but also treat yourselves by adding some items that will feel extra special and will become heirlooms.
Choose seasonal items as well as staples (like mixers or furniture). Given how far in advance guests might be clicking the registry link, keeping an offering of items that can be easily scooped as soon as you register but also ones that will remain in stock year-round will ensure you always have live and in-stock items on your wish list.
Choose a variety of items in varying price points that all guests will feel comfortable in purchasing. What’s great about Wayfair’s Registry is they do have the group offering option, but keeping a mix of lower priced items, mid-range, and higher priced picks will allow guests to easily pick-and-choose.
