holiday entertaining :: sugared cranberries

This is our 7th year of sharing our holiday entertaining tips and recipes on our (lifestyle) blog and it’s hard to not share some of the same recipes again as they are some of our very favorites!

Sugared cranberries are one them – we love making these glittering treats in December and we love to use them as a garnish in champagne and on desserts as their tartness-meets-sweetness lends an unexpected bit of holiday cheer. Not to mention, they’re just beautiful on their own in crystal dishes on a side board or table top.

These little treats are simple and fun to make, yet it looks like they’re a gourmet confection.

Sugared Cranberries:
8 oz. freshly washed cranberries | 2 cups water | 2 cup sugar | 1 cup baker’s sugar
Bring water and sugar to a simmer over low heat, until sugar is dissolved. Add the cranberries and gently stir {do not boil the water}. Take the pot and refrigerate over night.
The next day strain the cranberries from the water and gently toss in baker’s sugar. Dry on parchment paper at room temperature for several hours, until hardened. Serve and enjoy!
