Vintage Romance on Orcas Island
With most all of the 150 guests traveling to this wedding from afar, we put great care into making their arrivals in Seattle and transport to the islands comfortable. Nick orchestrated shuttles to pick up groups from the airport, drive them to the ferry dock about an hour and a half north, and arranged private foot ferries to pick up groups to ferry them directly to the private resort our clients rented out. We staged multiple events this weekend, starting with a welcome BBQ in the field and a private concert in a field from the incredible band Typhoon.
The wedding itself was a study in vintage romance-meets-coastal chic, with nautical flourishes, exposed wooden tables (the legs for a few of the tables had to be flown in from Seattle!), glittering lights in garlands and draping, and calligraphy flourishes aplenty. We traveled with multiple cargo trucks, bringing the linens, arch, guest welcome bags, dozens of pounds of cherries, flowers, blankets and pillows, lawn games, and more with us! We planned all amenities for the guests, down to the sunscreen in the welcome bags and local cherry baskets to nibble on. A second band played the wedding and brought down the house (well, our beautiful clear top tent!).
